Denese and I were pretty much ambivalent towards Christianity and Christians in general for many years. I grew up in the church and basically found it boring. Denese was dropped off at church as a kid once in a while to be "baby sat" for an hour. Neither of us thought about anything to do with Christianity until a wayward family member had a radical life change that they attributed to finding their faith.
Denese was amazed and intrigued by the positive life changes she saw in the person that when invited to go to an Alpha Course, she said yes.
Safe Place
Let me begin by saying that I (Rob) did NOT want to attend this course and only agreed because I am a "good husband," however, I did find it interesting. The Alpha Course addresses many life questions that we all have and provides a safe place in a small group to share opinions without anyone judging you. The Alpha Course is available for in person and online courses in many cities throughout the US and around the world. There is no fee, but the in-person meetings often include food and you may give a donation if you feel inclined.
Bring A Friend And Try It!
Everyone is welcome, and you will meet some of the nicest people and definitely have interesting conversations. If the in person course seems a little daunting, then bring a friend or try the online course. its on zoom and if its not for you, then no worries.
