We are travelers; and that means we meet a lot of interesting people along the way. Today's blog is about people who are making a difference in the lives of young women through their help.
After witnessing the horrors of sex-trafficking in Ukraine and Kenya, Yves and Jody Masquéfa returned home to Orange County, California, to find sex-trafficking was happening to Americans in their own backyard, and so they started Kherut.
Yves and Jody have over 40 years experience in the restaurant and catering industry with the renowned "Yves Bistro" in Anaheim California, which was one of our "special occasion" restaurants when we lived there. We got to know Yves and Jody personally, and their "mission" after we began our travels.

"Kherut" is a non-profit empowering survivors of sex trafficking, domestic violence, sexual abuse, imprisonment, and young women aging out of foster care in a safe and supportive environment. Working with other organizations who refer survivors into Kherut’s paid, four-phase training in food service, cooking, catering, event planning, menu design, social media, customer service, bookkeeping, inventory control, marketing, sales, and problem-solving.
Team members then apply their skills within SAVOR - Great Food|Greater Good, their social enterprise food services platform. The truck can serve up to five hundred (500) guests at remote events. to learn more about SAVOR - Great Food|Greater Good and their services, click here
Their goal is to provide an opportunity for survivors to advance within the organization while acquiring skills and experience that lead to success and independence for the rest of their life."
Everyday we see and read about how broken the world is in so many ways. It is refreshing and gives us great hope to see that some people are doing good. Visit "Natalies Story" to see how Kherut is changing lives.
Kherut is a worthy cause that we support, and you can too. click here for more info.
